What happens if the chef is sick?

 

We want to ensure your house receives daily meals. In the event that your chef is sick, we will order a catered meal for lunch and dinner or either a temporary chef will come for the day to prepare food for the house.

 

How does University Eats select which chefs work for the company?

 

We perform thorough background checks and we also check each chef’s references. We hire chefs that have been trained formally as well as having practical experience in the industry.

 

What about our chapter advisor or house mom can they eat?

 

Of course! Chapter advisors and house moms can eat complimentary as they do provide an invaluable service to your house.

 

Who creates the menu?

 

An initial monthly menu will be provided by University Eats and agreed upon by the executive team of the house. Once your chef learns the likes and dislikes, he/she will have the freedom to create menus catered specifically to your house.

 

We like what your company provides but we also like our current chef?

 

If you really enjoy your chef, he/she would be given first priority in applying to University Eats. We do, however, want to ensure you each house is receiving the highest quality meals. As long they are willing to adapt to any changes that might need to take place, we would be excited to work with them.

 

How is billing handled?

 

Payments are made twice each semester.  First payment is due in the beginning of the semester and once again in the middle of each semester.  A more flexible payment arrangement can be discussed.

 

Will we be served any pre-prepared or frozen food?

 

We do not serve pre-made frozen meals, food straight from can, or instantly prepared foods such as instant potatoes. We make all dressings and sauces from scratch. We take great pride in the food we serve.

 

What happens if I can’t make it to a meal service?

 

Food is essential to be able to keep up with the toll studying and partying takes.  If a brother/sister is unable to make it to meal service, he/she will simply write their name on a to-go-box and the chef will ensure the meal is waiting for them.

 

What if one of our brothers/sisters has an allergy or special dietary needs?

 

Anyone with special dietary needs would simply let the chef know of their dietary restrictions and we will take the necessary steps to ensure their dietary needs are met.

 

What makes us different from other kitchen management companies?

 

We are a group of culinarians and food has always been our passion.  Excellent food quality is our number one goal.  We will start the year with high quality food and we will end the year the same way.   Our area managers will consistently check each house to ensure your chef is providing you with meals that are on time and taste great.
